Frederick Jay Weixel

Frederick Jay Weixel (Fritz), 65, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at his home at Saersha Farm, Elgin.

Fritz graduated from Churchill High School in San Antonio and TSTI in Waco. He had a long career in Information Technology, including roles with PAM Computing, Frost Bank and Alamo Title. His work allowed him to travel around the country and to Europe. He ultimately retired to Saersha Farm where he tended the horses, the chickens and his cat, Blizzard.

Fritz loved west Texas, where he would go with his best friend, Chris Krueger, to herd cattle, brand calves and be real cowboys for a while.

He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Francis Weixel and Bernardine Weixel; and his brother, Christopher Weixel.

He is survived by sister, Joan Hardy (George) of Elgin; brother, Creighton Weixel of Paige; sister, Melissa Schumer (Barry) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and sister-in-law, Mary Ella McBrearty of San Antonio. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Erin, Anne, Margaret, Lindsay, Justin and Kyle; and greatnieces and nephews, Declan, Ava, Connor, Skyler, Dylan, Colin, Carolina and Jack.
