Bastrop County area sports camps continue

Elgin, Bastrop, Cedar Creek, and Smithville will all have sports camps continuing this week as youth athletics heat up during the summer session.

ELGIN

The Elgin girls’ basketball program will host its annual Lady Wildcats Youth Basketball Camp this week at the high school gymnasium for incoming first through ninth graders. The three-day camp will be held on June 12-14 from 10 a.m. through 12 p.m.

The cost of each camp this summer is $35.00 and only $25.00 for each additional camp signed up for. Tickets for all Elgin sports camps this summer can be accessed online at https://sites. google.com/elginisd. net/elgin-wildcat-athletics/ home for more information. Forms for upcoming camps must be turned in to Elgin athletics administrative assistant Erica Helton at the athletics office.

BASTROP

Bastrop Athletics will focus this week on the four-day Bastrop Bear Youth Soccer camp that will be held from 8-10 a.m. on June 12-15 at the high school soccer field. The camp will be for both boys and girls who are incoming third through ninth graders and cost $40.00 per camper with walk-up registration accepted.

CEDAR CREEK

Cedar Creek will host two separate three-day youth athletic camps this week for incoming third through ninth graders.

The Lady Eagles will have girls’ basketball camp from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. on June 12-14 at the large high school gym. The cost will be $50.00 per camper and parents should contact Cedar Creek girls basketball head coach Erica Cray via email at ecray@bisdtx. org for any questions they may have.

As for the Eagles boys, the annual youth baseball camp will run from 10 a.m. through 12 p.m. on June 12-14 at the Cedar Creek High School baseball field. The baseball camp will cost $50.00 per camper and any questions can be directed to Cedar Creek baseball head coach Brett Hoffman via email at [email protected] for additional information.

SMITHVILLE

Multiple girls’ camps will be starting this week and go from June 12-15 in Smithville with basketball and volleyball.

The Lady Tigers will have a girls’ youth basketball camp for incoming first through fifth graders from 8-9:30 a.m. at the junior high school gymnasium and it will cost $50.00 per athlete. Advanced Lady Tigers basketball camp, which is for incoming sixth through ninth graders, will be held from 10-11:30 a.m. and cost $20.00 per athlete.

Smithville will begin youth volleyball camp from 10-11:30 a.m. at the high school gymnasium and cost $50.00 per camper. Also available will be the advanced volleyball camp for sixth through ninth graders from 8-9:30 a.m. for $20.00.
