Glenda Mae Bentley

Glenda Mae Bentley, 67, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan. She was born July 6, 1955, in Austin. She was the daughter of Roy Louis Morgan and Nona Tumlison Morgan-Hobbs.

Glenda Mae Bentley, 67, of Lexington, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 19, 2023, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan. She was born July 6, 1955, in Austin. She was the daughter of Roy Louis Morgan and Nona Tumlison Morgan-Hobbs.

Glenda married the love of her life, Burrell Barnett “B.B.” Bentley Dec. 10, 1994. She retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in Austin after 32 years. Glenda was a member of the Lexington Eastern Star and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Rockdale.

She was preceded in death by her husband, B.B.; parents, Roy Louis Morgan and Nona Tumlison Morgan- Hobbs; grandparents, J.N. Tumlison and Dora Della Maxwell Tumlison of Mathis, Edward Clark Morgan and Birdie Hobbs Morgan of Lawhon Springs; and stepfather, Albert Rice Hobbs.

Glenda is survived by a lifelong family friend and son by choice, Tracy Todd Jones and wife Sissy of Bastrop; aunt, Audrey Morgan Rother and husband Merle of McDade; uncle, Sam W. Morgan and wife Alice of the Elm Grove school community; and step-sisters, Mary Ann Green of Cedar Creek and Shirley Dodson of Round Rock.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 29, followed by a memorial service Friday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at Providence Funeral Home, 604 Hwy 95 North in Elgin.

There will not be a graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Glenda to the Animal Trustees of Austin or Lawhon Springs School Museum c/o Trey Smith or Audrey Rother.
