William Paul Adams passed away peacefully July 4, 2023, at the age of 27 in Norfolk, Virginia.
William was born Aug. 2, 1995, in Austin, to Adam and Pamela Adams. He spent his childhood in Elgin, and graduated from Elgin High School in 2013, where he played both soccer and football. Upon graduating high school, he accepted a scholarship to play football at the University of Central Arkansas.
After college, William joined the U.S. Navy and was able to travel the world while serving on the USS Whidbey Island, which led him to the love of his life, Gaby.
William’s childhood was filled with games and family competitions against his father and sisters. The soccer and ping pong games were epic in every way imaginable. During William’s teenage years, he fell in love with soccer and video games and the passion only grew throughout his life. William made lasting relationships with many people, but was especially close to his childhood friends Miguel and AJ.
William spent most of his time playing with his daughter, Sofia, and goofing around with his wife, Gaby. He always had time for Sofia, but he did look forward to her bedtime when he was able to get on his PS5 and play online with his friends Owen, Miguel and AJ.
William was a jokester. It was one of the most amazing things about him, and he could make any situation funny. He and Gaby spent lots of time improvising arguments so they were always ready for the next fight they would have at work. He spoke often of his friends and all the things they would do on deployment or back at home. Ultimately, William’s greatest accomplishment was becoming a father.
William was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Pipkin; grandparents, William and Judy Adams; and great grandparents, Cecil and Marguerite Smith, and Benjamin and Nora Attrice Johnson.
William is survived by his wife, Gabriela and daughter Sofia Attrice; parents, Adam and Pamela; sisters, Hillary and Grace; his kitty cat, Cebada; and puppy dog, Ellie.
He also leaves his grandparents, Robert Garvel and Shirley Garvel; mother-inlaw, Cecilia Barroso; brothers- in-law, Chuy Barroso and Jesse Barroso; sister-inlaw, Halie Barroso; uncles, Brian Garvel (Amy) and Donnie Grames (Jennifer); and aunts, Gina Hibbs (Bobby), Stacy Kohorst (Joe) and Christina Garvel. William also leaves many great-aunts and uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will be private.
