ELGIN – The Cardboard Boat Race Speed Build Competition will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Morris Memorial Pool, 802 N. Ave C. Boats must be made entirely out of cardboard and duct tape and should fit one rower. The first boat to make it to the opposite side of the pool wins. Boats may be no longer than eight feet and no wider than four feet. Joints and seams may only be taped. Boats must have sides that are a minimum of five inches tall. No rafts permitted. ROSANKY–JointheTexas FireWalkers in Rosanky for the Rosanky ChiliFest 2023. The event will be hedl from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Firewalker Ranch,3004S.Texas Highway 304 in Rosanky. ROCKNE – The 32nd annual Rockne Homecoming Parade will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m.in downtown Rockne. The event it dedicated to the oldest Rockne Cowboy, Arthur Goertz, a WWII veteran who will be turning 100 years old in September, andforover30years he has carried the United States flag on horseback to kick off the procession. To be in the parade, line up at 9 a.m. at Red Rock Grocery at 1945 FM 20, Red Rock.

AL-ANON

MEETING

ELGIN – The Al-Anon meeting is held every Tuesday, at 6:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 216 W Third St. in Elgin. If you have struggled with a friend or relative who misuses alcohol or any other addiction, Alcoholics Anonymous Family Groups (Al-Anon) is intended for you.
