Edward Perez, 73, of Elgin, passed away peacefully Dec. 2.
Ed was a police officer, but made his main career through the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He and his family lived in many different cities across the U.S. as he worked his way up through the ranks, and made many friends along the way. He retired honorably as a prison warden.
Ed spent many of his later years back in his hometown of Elgin.
He enjoyed golf with his brothers, going to Texas football games with his son and living close by his sister as he continued to raise his youngest son.
Ed loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He loved lots of women, traveling, pecans, hanging at his pool, going to the beach, Elgin barbecue and Texas.
Ed was predeceased by his sister, Mary Lou; and brothers Roy and John.
He is survived by his sons, Scott, Christopher and Edward; sisters, Alice Trevino and Angie; and brother, Joe D. Perez.
Services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home
