Rose Marie (Raschke) Travis went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at the age of 63.
Rose was born Feb. 24, 1960, in Elgin, to Edwin and Modean Raschke.
She graduated from Elgin High School in 1978. She worked for the Department of Public Safety before moving to Houston. While in Houston she worked for NASA before returning to Elgin and becoming a legal secretary for the Texas Department of Insurance.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law, Rick Harkins; stepmother, Oradell Raschke; and her grandparents.
She is survived by her son, Justin (Veronica); and grandchildren, Jaylin and Benjamin. She is also survived by sisters, Margie Kyser (Ben), Joann Harkins-Cody (Charles) and Vivian Brandt (Dan) as well as her nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Eric Middaugh, Drew Brandt, Wesley Harkins, Ben Kyser, Charles Cody and Dan Brandt.
Rose loved animals — specifically horses, dogs and especially cats. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m. at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Elgin Cemetery.
