With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Melissa McKay Snowden, who left us Dec. 3, 2023, in her home in Corpus Christi, a place close to her heart. Her life was a beautiful blend of love, strength and nurturing, which she generously shared with those around her.

Melissa’s journey with her partner, Keith Snowden, encompassed the joys and challenges of a blended family. Her love extended to her children, Kyle, Lauren and Katy. She also warmly embraced Keith’s children Sarah and Matthew, as part of their extended family. Together, they shared many cherished moments and memories.

Her grandchildren, Stel la, Ellis, Konnor, Keagan and the muchanticipated Levi, were a source of immense joy in her life.

Melissa’s love for the serene beaches of Corpus Christi reflected her own gentle and caring disposition. In her life, she also shared a special bond with her cat, Snooki, and her dog, Oliver. These pets were a part of her daily joy and companionship.

Melissa is lovingly remembered by her parents, Sandra and Bill Powers; her brother, Michael; sister, Kristina; and her extended family.

Family and friends gathered Tuesday, Jan. 9, at 6 p.m. at Elgin Funeral Home to celebrate Melissa’s Life, with Pastor Ronnie Gregory presiding.

Arrangements and care are entrusted to: Elgin Funeral Home, 712 N. Ave. C, 512-281-5697, elginfuneralhome.net.
