SMITHVILLE — A death March 23 in the middle of downtown has left coworkers at a popular restaurant saddened by the loss, according to a social-media post.
Details in the incident are pending from the Police Department.
The deceased person — who was not identified — was found with a fatal injury outside of The Front Room Wine Bar, where he was an employee, according to a post by pub representative Victoria Allen.
The popular bar and restaurant is at 116 Main St.
No other injuries were reported in what is described as “an isolated incident.” Staff acted quickly, reporting to and cooperating with law enforcement and paramedics, Allen added.
“We are deeply saddened by this loss and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all those who are affected by this tragedy. He was a valued member of our team, and his presence will be greatly missed,” Allen said in a Facebook post.
The business will remain closed until further notice “due to this tragic event,” the post added.
