How old are you and what do you do?
I am 54 years old and a lifelong resident of Elgin. Currently, I have been employed by the Lower Colorado River Authority for the last 24 years where I am an Operations and Business Analyst, Lead in their Telecommunications department.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
I have served on the Elgin City Council for the past 10 years and carry a large amount of knowledge and experience for this position. I have held the office of Mayor Pro-Tem for the last three years, and also serve on the Economic Development Corporation board.
If elected, what will be your main priority?
My main priority is, and always will be, the citizens of Elgin. I push for a thriving city where we maintain our roots as well as create a community where our citizens can live, work and play.
What is the biggest issue facing Elgin/Elgin ISD at the moment?
The largest issue right now for all of Elgin is the growth and how to mold it to work best for each of our citizens. Growth is inevitable but with positive, hands on leadership, Elgin will continue to prosper.
Why are you running?
I am proud to say that I am an Elginite and I want to do everything I can to maintain our rich heritage, work today through all of our growing pains so that the future is strong, bright and prosperous for all of our future generations.
Why should people vote for you?
Voters should consider voting for me because I am a no-nonsense citizen that wants the best for our town. I will promote Elgin in a positive light always and strive to build a stronger, more cohesive community that all Elginites are proud to call home.
Why should voters trust you?
Trust is a big word that I take very serious. The answers that I give are truthful and not full of innuendos and half-truths without merit. I will not ever jump on social media to conduct city business nor will I create posts or videos where the information is not truthful, informed and insightful. As a council member, I am a phone call, email or face-to-face meeting away and will provide all citizens the truth and if I do not know the answer, I will find it for you.
