The Elgin Garden Club has chosen Debora Marzec’s greenery at 1114 W. Second St. as winner of May’s Yard of the Month. The garden emphasizes the importance of native wildflowers to support bees, butterflies and other pollinators, including a complete bee sanctuary. Floral displays include salvia, datura, echinesia and canna. The local gardeners meet the first Tuesday of every month at the Grace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 11th Street and U.S. Highway 290._Visitors and new members are welcome.
