MCDADE – Kelsey and Joshua Dube, onboarding McDade High School seniors and Future Farmers of America chapter seniors, receive their Lone Star Degrees last week at the 96th Annual Texas FFA State Convention. The two are the first McDade students to receive the honors since its FFA was chartered in 2018, the highest degree of membership the State FFA Association can award, according to the organization. The award recognizes FFA members who have received the chapter degree, been active FFA members for at least two years, completed at least four semesters of agricultural science at or above the ninth-grade level, maintained a supervised agricultural experience program, demonstrated their leadership skills and have shown a commitment to the FFA through involvement at the chapter level and above. Their proud parents are Jed and Kathy Dube of McDade.
