August came with a surge of activity for Elgin’s provider of equine-assisted services.
Healing With Horses Ranch is celebrating the conclusion of its annual Sustaining Donor Drive, welcoming back staff from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International conference and gearing up for a series of exciting events.
The Sustaining Donor Drive, which wrapped up Aug. 15, is vital for supporting the Ranch’s mission, according to representatives. This initiative helps secure monthly donations that cover a range of needs – client scholarships, facility repairs and the ongoing care of the ranch’s beloved horses.
Team members are dedicated to the transformative power of the horse-human connection, providing exceptional care with feed, veterinary services, chiropractic care and massage therapy to ensure the horses are ready for therapeutic sessions.
Healing With Horses Ranch is proud of its dedicated staff, who recently returned from the PATH International Region 8 Conference in Dallas. The event brought together professionals from Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mexico and Central and South America. At the conference, staff members showcased their expertise and highlighted the Ranch’s leadership in the field. Karen Perkins presented on yoga with horses, Arianna Roman discussed wrangling data, Amanda Hoppe covered equine-assisted learning, David Lafreniere spoke on resilience and Joel Wyrtzen and Patty D’Andrea explored neuro-emotional substrates and emotion regulation in equine-assisted services.
Looking ahead, the ranch will host its inaugural Team Building Experience Sept. 14. This event, designed for businesses and companies, will feature a Ranch tour, an equine-assisted learning session, a volunteer project, lunch and a discussion about the experience. Bluebonnet Electric will be the first participant in this innovative program.
Additionally, the sixth annual East Side Mini Open will take place Sept. 28 in east Austin, benefiting the ranch through a friendly mini-golf competition. Ranch equines will be at Kinda Tropical, one of the starting locations, to meet and greet guests.
