P-TECH selected for statewide spotlight

In a significant achievement for local education, Elgin Independent School District’s Pathways in Technology Early College High School recently received statewide recognition.

P-TECH is making waves in Texas education, earning a prominent spot on the Texas College and Career Readiness School Models Network website. This recognition underscores the district's dedication to equipping students with essential skills for their future, according to Elgin ISD.

“The overall success of these programs is a fine example of the commitment Elgin ISD has to providing choice and opportunity for our students,” Al Rodriguez said, Elgin ISD executive director of communications. “There are great things going on here. Our students, staff and community should be proud, and this is certainly something to cheer about.”

The Texas Education Agency established the CCRSM Network to close opportunity gaps and enhance access to quality education. Currently, the network serves over 93,000 students across 543 campuses statewide.

Elgin ISD P-TECH is showcased in the CCRSM Network's online video resource library, designed to support student college and career readiness. Educate Texas collaborated with Elgin ISD and the CCRSM Network to produce a video highlighting the P-TECH program, available through https:// texasccrsm.org.

Elgin ISD's marketing materials for Early College High School are also included in the CCRSM Network resource library for other districts to access and review.

Athena Manufacturing, Elgin ISD's career partner, is spotlighted as a success story within the P-TECH program. Students from Elgin ISD P-TECH have the opportunity to intern at Athena while pursuing their associate degrees and industry certifications.
