Dear editor, Elgin has generosity and love in abundance in so many ways.
The Thanksgiving feast that was prepared and served to a couple of thousand (wow!) members of our community was amazing. Life is getting tougher for so many and will continue that path, but strength of purpose and belief in the goodness of all people is holding strong.
Realizing that the local museum needed some assistance with a few things that would really help attendance, a local Boy Scout, Wyatt Brokmeyer, asked if he could help by building some picnic tables, plus a couple of other items. He and his parents, Gail and Cody, did a great job. This excellent project will be part of Wyatt’s Eagle Scout project.
Generosity of time and talent is all around us.
I have been in Elgin over 50 years and loved every minute. This holiday season is very special to me, and I want everyone to keep doing what they’re doing. You are the best!
