Groups to ‘Amplify’ donations

Elgin nonprofits benefiting Bastrop County could have a very productive day coming up. 

The Mary Christian Burleson Foundation, Down Home Ranch and Elgin Alleycats have registered to participate in Amplify Austin Day in March. Residents who donate any nonprofit on the Amplify Austin website can have their donations matched by regional donors and help the nonprofit unlock dozens of cash prizes up to $5,000.

In 2016, I Live Here I Give Here established the I Live Here I Give Here Amplify Fund Amplify Fund to inspire individuals, foundations, and local nonprofits to participate in the giving day. The goals of the Amplify Fund are to raise awareness for Amplify Austin Day and the nonprofits serving in the local community, provide matching dollars that inspire donors to amplify their giving, fund prizes for participating nonprofits, and reimburse the groups fundraising costs. To date, the Amplify Fund has given back nearly $12 million to participating nonprofits.

Donations made to those organizations at http://www.amplifyatx.org between 6 p.m. March 1 and 6 p.m. March 2 are eligible to be matched and would qualify those local organizations to win additional cash prizes.
