BASTROP – The Elgin Wildcats (6-10) drop to 2-8-2 in district, while the Bastrop Bears (14-7-1) move into fifth in the district at 4-7-1.
The teams met Friday night, March 3, in Bastrop where the Bears picked up a 2-0 win over Elgin. The loss keeps Elgin at the bottom of the district standings. The Wildcats hosted the Pflugerville Panthers (8-9-5) Tuesday night, March 7. The Panthers are one slot ahead of Elgin in the district standings.
Bastrop is still fighting for the final playoff spot. They were in Cedar Creek (4-7-1) Tuesday night to face an Eagles team who is also fighting for fourth place.
