Four of Elgin Independent School District’s future educators returned from the nation’s capital this month with high honors.
Texas Association of Future Educators pupils Montserrat Fuentes-Carrillo, Keira Aldaco, Shelsy Garcia and Selene Plancarte-Borja attended the Educators Rising National Conference earlier this month to compete at the national level in Washington. Over 3,000 participants matched up in 25 competitions.
Fuentes-Carrillo claimed a third place ribbon for her entry in Teacher Created Materials, a created game called “Bon Voyage” that could be played when discussing the Mayflower Compact. She also participated in the Educators Rising National Signing event where she committed to Texas A&M Corpus Christi to major in Elementary Education.
