Julia Ann “Judy” Francke Judkins
Julia Ann “Judy” Francke Judkins
Judy was born to Lawrence Francke and Alma Ozment Francke July 9, 1943, in Alturas, California. She was the eldest of five children born to this union.
July grew up in Elgin along with her sister Donna and Brenda. They lived at the Pump Station with grandparents Otto and Julia Wotipka Francke. The girls attended Elgin ISD, and they all worked at the concession stand at the El Tex theater where Granny Francke managed for over 30 years. Eventually, Judy moved to Arkansas and attended the Warren School District.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, brother and grandparents. Numerous aunts, uncles and cousins precede her as well.
Judy is survived by her sons, Eddie Callison and wife Sherry, Richard Callison and wife Julie, and Bobby Judkins; her daughter, Cindy Dodson and husband Jim; grandchildren, Casie, Raylynn, Camryn, Jonathon, Eric, Jacob and Destiny; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by the love of her life and best friend of 13 years, Allen Doubrava; her sisters, Donna Wiscaver, Brenda Brewer and husband Ronnie, and Alma “Punkie” Francke. Punkie had been Judy’s caregiver for the past several years. They have had best friends and neighbors Gilbert and Lois Kubicek, who have been a God send since 2006.
She is also survived by her “Parker Lumber” family, where she was employed for almost 14 years. We acknowledge the love and kindness shown to Judy over the years. Judy reconnected with many friends and made new friends when she returned to Elgin in 2006.
