Elgin Eagle Scout candidate honors USMC
News
Commander John Quagliani (left), Eagle Scout candidate Madison Woehl and Senior Vice Commander Tom Mead dedicated the event hall of Elgin’s VFW Post 6115 in honor of Captain Joshua S. Meadows, USMC, on the 249th birthday of the Marine Corps last month. Woehl, who completed the newly renovated hall entrance, aims to be the first Eagle Scout out of Elgin’s Scouting America unit 473, formerly known as the Boy Scouts of America. Nearly 200 friends, family and community members gathered to celebrate and support the hardworking scout dedicated to becoming a distinguished leader in her troop and district.
