BASTROP — Law enforcement carried out two major drug busts last week, seizing a variety of illegal substances valued at more than $100,000 and making multiple arrests, according to the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 7, the Bastrop County Narcotics Unit — with assistance from the Bastrop County Special Response Team — served a search warrant on Hoffman Road.

Investigators confiscated nearly two pounds of marijuana, 1,008 grams of THC vapes, 3,808 grams of THC gummies, 5,515 grams of psilocybin mushroom-infused candy bars, 629 grams of Promethazine, 280 grams of THC butter and 952 grams of THC oil, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

They also seized more than $30,000 in cash, multiple AR-15 pistols, a 12-gauge shotgun, a handgun, numerous loaded magazines with extra ammunition and a vehicle allegedly used for narcotics deliveries.

The drugs had an estimated street value of about $25,500, officials said.

Rusty Davis, 19, resident of the searched home, was arrested and faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree felonies for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2 and Penalty Group 4, both involving more than 400 grams and carrying enhanced penalties.

He is being held in the Bastrop County Jail on a total of $1 million in bonds, jail records show.

The previous day, a Bastrop County K-9 deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Cadillac Escalade traveling westbound on Texas 71.

During the stop, K-9 Trol detected narcotics, prompting a probable cause search, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators discovered 367 grams of fentanyl inside a yellow pen box, enough for an estimated 180,000 lethal doses, deputies said.

The vehicle’s two occupants, identified as a brother and sister, allegedly purchased the fentanyl in Houston and were charged with first-degree felony possession of a controlled substance.

Both cases remain under investigation.

In a statement, officials emphasized the office’s commitment to intercepting dangerous drugs in the area and urged residents to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
