More rainfall and high winds are on the horizon after a weekend full of showers and a long-lasting tornado watch.While some tornadoes touched ground across the country this past week, Elgin remained under an April 28 cautionary 40% watch throughout the night without any trouble. Hail and interspersed thunderstorms loomed over the city and will continue to darken the skies heading into next week, according to the National Weather Service.Thursday and Friday evening tout a 50% chance for storms with winds that can reach up to 25 miles per hour, but no tornado warnings are in effect as of yet.
