The first leader for Elgin’s latest elementary school has been named.
The Elgin Independent School District agreed to move forward and bring a bond vote to residents for some much-needed expansions.
COUPLAND – Hermann Sons Life Coupland will meet Sunday, March 3, at 2 p.m. at the Coupland Fire Hall. All members are encouraged to attend and asked to bring snacks to share. Drinks will be provided.

WACO – The Elgin High School varsity baseball team began its 2024 season last week as the Wildcats competed at the Waco Tournament.
BASTROP – The Cedar Creek High School boys varsity basketball team picked up its first playoff victory in school history last week as the Eagles had 5A playoff game against Austin McCallum High School and fell to Killeen Shoemaker High School.
