CARTS Introduces Electric Vehicles to the CARTS NOW fleet in Bastrop

Capital Arera Rural Transportation System recently announced that Bastrop will be the testbed for the use of zero-emission vehicles suited particularly for its microtransit operations in that city. CARTS is introducing two new electric vehicles into the CARTS Now on-demand transit fleet.

Mayor Connie Schroeder and Mayor-elect Lyle Nelson participated in a ribbon cutting Tuesday, June 20, in downtonw Bastrop to introduce the new vehicles into service.

The vehicles are zero emission, wheelchair accessible, light-duty passenger shuttles. The E-Transit is a Ford OEM fully electric version of the trusted Transit 350 platform.
