LA GRANGE — Managing Director of the Texas Quilt Museum Deborah Bradley requested the Colorado Valley Quilt Guild make a couple of quilts for two books they include in the museum’s Storytime Saturdays, 140 W. Colorado St., La Grange. Every Saturday at 3 p.m., the museum hosts free admission for children and their families.
B r enda Jes c h k e , award-winning quilter, quilt teacher and quiltshow judge, helped guide participants in their craft work by sharing techniques for constructing the back of a quilt and how to properly bind it.
Sandy Courrier quilted a piece for the children’s book “Cheepy and Grandma Mare.”
Brigitte Wittmann quilted a piece based on a picture from the children’s book “Dream Snow.”
Both books will be displayed during the museum’s story time event.
The Guild meets every fourth Tuesday at Randolph Recreation Center, 653 East Pearl St., Room A East, LaGrange. Guild meetings begin at 6 p.m. on even months and 10 a.m. on odd months.
