An Eagles squad steamrolled their competition in a recent contest.
On Thursday, Jan. 19, the TNT Academy Eagles of Paige traveled to face the Coupland Cowboys’ middle school boys and girls basketball teams.
The Lady Eagles lost 25-10 against a much bigger and more experienced Coupland team.
“Our girls didn’t have any legs in the second half to keep up,” said Coach Charles Wilson, “but our girls are improving day by day.”
Grace Parkhill led the team in scoring with eight points. Hadley Brooks contributed with two points for the Lady Eagles.
The TNT boys, however, dominated the Cowboys 53-29.
“The energy on the defensive end set the tone for us right away,” said Wilson.
Cameron Aspen was nearly unstoppable, scoring 20 points to lead the way. Mario Sanchez also had an efficient performance with 14 points, and Adrian Sanchez chipped in with eight points.
Both Eagles squads will compete against Giddings Immanuel Lutheran on Thursday, Feb. 2.
