Elgin finishes track strong

HUMBLE β€” The Elgin Wildcats and Lady Wildcats concluded their track season at the regional meet in Humble this past weekend.

Kailyn Cook had a busy weekend competing in three different events at the meet. She was in the long jump, 4x100 meter relay and the 100.

Her best competition was the long jump, where she jumped 17’11.5, which was good enough to earn fourth place among the 15 participants.

In the 4x100, Cook, Makayla Taylor- Bowman, Layla Whitman and Ta’ Myra Walker came in at 49.33, earning a 12th place finish.

Cook also finished ninth in the 100 with a time of 12.47.

Curtis McFalin was the only Wildcat to compete at regionals. His third place finish in the 300 hurdles at the area meet earned him a spot in the regional meet.

McFarlin finished 14th with a time of 47.22.
