CELEBRATION AT THE FARM STREET OPRY BASTROP — Get ready for a night of music and a heartfelt celebration at the Fram Street Opry. The event will honor and commemorate the life and service of World War II Navy veteran Pete Justice, who will celebrate his 100th birthday. Hosted by the city of Bastrop, the Farm Street Opry is a monthly celebration of authentic Texas music at the Bastrop Convention & Exhibit Center. MUSIC IN THE PARK ELGIN — Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, family and friends to enjoy live music by the Huerta Culture – cumbia, ska, reggae, hip-hop, blues, rock and Balkan influences – and dancing under the starry Friday nights of April and May from 6 to 8 p.m. in downtown Elgin. Events also include lawn games provided by Elgin Parks and Recreation, food trucks and more. The rain location will be the VFW.
