BASTROP PRIDE FESTIVAL
BASTROP— Bastrop Pride is hosting a series of events from May 31-June 2 to celebrate all that makes their community unique and brings them together. Drag show, “Paint your roses red” will be held May 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Vibe Tribe in Bastrop. ON June 1, a street faire will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. in downtown Bastrop, and Pride in the Park will be June 2 from 1 to 7 p.m. in Fisherman’s Park in Bastrop.

ELGIN —The Elgin Cemetery Association will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall at First United Methodist Church, 216 W. 3rd St. in Elgin. All are welcome to attend.

ARTIST IN STUDIO BASTROP — From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Come meet sculptor Wesley Wofford who created “Harriet Tubman-The Journey to Freedom,” where he will discuss the work, the inspiration and the impact the traveling exhibit has had on the host communities. Found Fine Art and Pyrology Foundry & Studio have partnered with the city of Bastrop and the Kerr Community Center to bring the traveling exhibit to Bastrop June 15 through the end of August.

JUNETEENTH WITH DECEE CORNISH ELGIN — Five-time Texas State Storytelling Champion and National Storytelling Network Story Slam Champion Decee Cornish will have a storytelling experience at the Sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 216 W. 3rd St. in Elgin. Seating begins at 9:45 a.m. with the stories beginning at 10 a.m. The event is free and appropriate for all ages. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
