BASTROP — County residents will have the opportunity this weekend to better their health, seek out resources for lifestyle improvements and learn more about health services in the area.
The Bastrop County Health Fair returns for the second time Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bastrop Convention Center, presented by the Chamber of Commerce. The free, family-friendly event is focused on promoting health and wellness while showcasing the abundance of resources available in the community.
“ We are thr i l led to bring the Bastrop County Health Fair to our community,” said Becki Womble, chamber president. “This event is a great opportunity for residents to connect with local health agencies, learn about important health topics and take steps towards a healthier lifestyle.”
According to representatives, the fair aims to familiarize community members with the health-related agencies within the county, promote preventative health care, encourage exercise and suggest good nutrition. The event will feature a variety of mini-workshops designed to educate the public on healthy living and share basic life-saving information.
Event highlights include free health screenings, CPR certification training, mammograms on the Big Pink Bus and more.
