Wildcats struggle, lose in straight sets

The Elgin Lady Wildcat s varsity vol leyball team fell to the Pflugerville Panthers in straight sets, losing 3-0 Tuesday, Sept. 24.

This defeat marks the seventh consecutive loss for the Lady Wildcats as they struggle to regain footing this season.

Elgin dropped the first set 16-25 and lost the second set 18-25. The Panthers sealed the match with a 25-19 victory in the third set.

Top performers for the Lady Wildcats included sophomore setter Meta Elliot, junior outside hit ter Bella Navejas and sophomore setter Kaitlyn Rodriguez. Elliot recorded 15 digs and seven assists, while Navejas and Rodriguez combined for six kills.

Looking to turn their season around, Elgin will continue district play with an away match at Pf lugerville Hendrickson Oct. 8, 6:30 p.m.
