Lady Wildcats losing streak continues versus Patriots

The Elgin Lady Wildcats varsity volleyball team lost in straight sets 3-0 to the East View Patriots on Tuesday, Oct. 1.

The Lady Wildcats fought hard in the first set as the Patriots would build a 10-4 lead. Elgin would get back into the game going a 4-1 run making it 11-8. The match would go back and forth before East View put the game away with two straight kills winning 25-18. The second set was less competitive as Elgin lost 25-8.

The third and final set was back and forth, but East View would close the game with a 25-15 win. Some top performers for the Lady Wildcats were Sofia Ramirez with six digs and Nadia Sagastume with six assists. Sabra Baker led the team in kills with six.

Elgin falls to 6-21 on the year and 0-6 in district play. The loss marks its eighth straight loss.

The Lady Wildcats will try to break the streak by going on the road to take on Hendrickson on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Weiss on Friday, Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m.
