Lady Wildcats swept by Hawks, winless in district play

The Elgin Lady Wildcats' struggles continued with a 3-0 loss to the Hendrickson Hawks Tuesday, Oct. 8, marking their 10th straight defeat and leaving them winless in district play.

Hendrickson dominated from start to finish, taking the first set 25-15, the second 25-14 and closing out the match with a 25-11 victory in the third.

Junior defensive specialist Trinity Martinez led Elgin with seven digs, while junior outside hitter Bella Navajas contributed two kills. Senior setter Nadia Sagastume added five assists.

The Lady Wildcats dropped to 6-23 overall and 0-8 in district play.

Elgin will aim to break their losing streak when they travel to Georgetown, before hosting Pflugerville Friday, Oct. 18, at 5:30 p.m.
