Employing disguise and deception, two newly acquainted crooks become all the more desperate and depraved, but must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s chilling conclusion. DALE MEAT & MUSIC FEST DALE — Join CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties for a day filled with music and meat Oct. 26, starting at noon, 231 Sandy Creek Road.

COUPLAND CANDY COUPLAND — Coupland’s annual Trunk or Treat will be Sunday, Oct. 27, 6 p.m. in front of St. Peter’s Church of Coupland. Residents will wear costumes, decorate vehicles and hand out candy to trick or treaters. In case of inclement weather, we will move into St. Peter’s Fellowship Hall. A fun (and scary) time will be had by all.

HAUNTED HOUSE ELGIN — Join the VFW at 118 Sayers Road for a Trunk or Treat event from 6 to 9 p.m. Music, movies and a haunted house will keep attendees thrilled while children score all the candy they can carry.

ELGIN — For help stockpiling candy, the First Baptist Church of Elgin will be hosting a Trunk or Treat event at 13916 County Line Road, from 6 to 8 p.m.
