BASTROP — Lost Pines Toyota, a Hispanic-owned and community-driven dealership in Bastrop, hosted a lively celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, uniting community members and local businesses to honor rich cultural traditions and promote wellness in the county.

In addition to food and entertainment, the celebration provided vital health resources. Attendees participated in an educational panel on traumatic brain injury awareness and prevention in children, featuring expert panelists Pompeyo Chavez, Sally Snow, Janel Morris, Christina Master and student ambassador Brady Brewer. Their insights emphasized the importance of TBI awareness, supported by Toyota USA's Way Forward Fund.

In a touching conclusion to the health panel, Ascension Catholic Church and Toyota presented Bastrop Independent School District with an $80,000 check to support TBI awareness initiatives, ensuring the day’s efforts will continue to benefit the community.

The energetic day also featured traditional food, music and engaging performances from the Cedar Creek Varsity and Junior Varsity teams and the Bastrop Middle School Folkloric groups.

Carlos Liriano, dealer principal of Lost Pines Toyota, has made a remarkable impact on the community since opening the dealership in 2012 — providing free mammograms through The Big Pink Bus, dental care for low-income areas and workforce development programs.

Local organizations such as Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative and Univision 62 contributed to the event’s success, providing door prizes and refreshments. Creative Lab Studio captured memories with a fun 360 photo booth, while DJ Manny Mo kept the music flowing and Jairo Morales served as the lively MC.

Liriano and the Lost Pines Toyota family extended their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended and to the sponsors who made the event a success. The celebration highlighted community spirit, cultural pride and vital health resources that will leave a lasting impact on Bastrop County families.
