BASTROP — The Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit has made significant strides in its aggressive drug enforcement efforts, with two major operations resulting in the seizure of large quantities of narcotics and firearms.
Office investigators Nov. 12 served a search warrant at a residence in Bastrop County, uncovering an active methamphetamine laboratory. The operation led to the seizure of 2.2 kilograms Drugs seized by the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit during recent operations, including methamphetamine and cocaine with an estimated street value of $82,000.

of cocaine, 37.7 kilograms of crystal and liquid methamphetamine and nine firearms, including a short-barreled rifle, investigators said.
The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $82,000, according to the office.
Just two days later, the Narcotics K-9 Team conducted a traffic stop within the county, leading to the additional discovery and seizure of 27 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
Both cases remain under investigation, and charges are pending as the Sheriff’s Office continues its crackdown on illegal drug activity in the community.
