HERMAN SONS LIFE COUPLAND — Hermann Sons Life Coupland – New Bern will host its Family Christmas Party and a short meeting at the Coupland Firehall Dec. 1, at 2 p.m. All members are encouraged to attend, and some will be recognized for over 50 years of membership. Children will receive a small gift from Santa. Families are asked to bring a dessert and non-perishable food items for the Shepherd’s Heart Food Pantry in Taylor; the meal and drinks will be provided. BASTROP — George Rodriguez, El Conservador, will be the guest speaker at the Lost Pines Republican Women Christmas Party Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Osprey Point Hall, Lake Bastrop South Shore Park. Tickets must be purchased in advance, with options for individual tickets, full table purchases and sponsorships available at LostPinesRW.org. Rodriguez, a conservative activist and former Department of Justice appointee, frequently speaks on topics like the border crisis and police/community relations.

HOLIDAY BY THE TRACKS
ELGIN — Join the fun at Holiday by the Tracks Dec. 7 and enjoy free holiday activities for all ages, including Christmas carols, Hanukkah games, Kwanzaa crafts, pictures with Santa and more at the Elgin Public Library and Veterans Memorial Park. The Sugar Plums & Beating Drums Christmas Bazaar and Hot Cocoa Stroll will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with live music, food and local vendors.
