The Lady Wildcats varsity basketball team endured a tough week on the court, extending Elgin’s winless district skid to eight games after low-scoring performances against the Hawks and Wolves.

Vs. Hendrickson

Hendrickson outclassed Elgin’s roster 93-35 Jan. 14.

The Lady Wildcats were overwhelmed by the Hawk’s high-powered offense, trailing 33-14 after the first eight minutes.

Hendrickson had built a commanding 30-point lead by halftime, and returned after the break to further outpace the Lady Wildcats in their highest-scoring game of the season.

Junior guard Sharmonique Williams stood out for Elgin, leading the team with a strong individual effort.

Vs. Weiss

Another offensive struggle, the Wolves outscored Elgin 68-10 Jan. 17.

The Lady Wildcats posted their second-lowest output of the season, shooting just 6% from the field.

Despite the offensive challenges, Williams and sophomore Ta’Myra Walker made their presence felt on defense, tallying multiple steals each.

Sitting at a 6-25 overall record and 0-8 district sheet, Elgin will try to find their first competition win Friday, Jan. 24, when they face Pflugerville at 7 p.m
