FARM STREET OPRY BASTROP — “The Farm Street Opry” comes back to the Bastrop Convention Center, 1408 Chestnut St. The family friendly musical features local talent and special guest performers every month. QUILT COLLECTION BASTROP — The Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center begins showing its historic quilt collection Feb. 7, celebrating quilting traditions from the 1850s to today. Coinciding with the Airing of the Quilts, the exhibit highlights the craft’s artistry and history. The selection will run in the museum, 904 Main St., through March 30. Join Donella, Elgin Public Library’s peer support specialist, for a Job Seeker Support Group meeting on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month. The group meets at 5:30 p.m. in the library, 404 N. Main St.

MUSHROOM WORKSHOP CEDAR CREEK — Spread spores of joy, meet some friends and learn about lowtech mushroom cultivation with Mush Love for Mushrooms at Bastrop Botanical Gardens, 316 Old 71. MUSIC IN MUSEUM

BASTROP — The Bastrop Museum and Visitor Center’s recurring showcase of local talent is bringing out Academy Award nominee Robert Kraft for an afternoon of original music and crowd-pleasing covers. The show begins at noon in the museum, 904 Main St. Admission is free.

FEB. 21-23 URINETOWN

BASTROP — “Urinetown: The Musical” begins its stay at the Bastrop Opera House Feb. 21, under the direction of Jonathan Young. This Tony Award-winning satire tackles politics, capitalism and social irresponsibility with humor and heart as a hero challenges a corrupt system controlling the city’s water.
