MUSIC IN THE MUSEUM BASTROP — In honor of Women’s History Month, the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center will host local songstress Terry Lyne Moore for its recurring Music in the Museum series. A feature in several Bastrop Opera House productions, she will be singing a mix of vocal genres from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15. The downtown Bastrop event, at 904 Main St., is free and open to the public.

COUPLES SCRAMBLE BASTROP — Golfing partners are invited to wear some green and hit the greens during the two-day-long St. Patrick’s Couples Scramble event at the scenic and challenging ColoVista Golf Club, 100 Country Club Drive, March 15. The scramble format has tee times starting at 9 a.m. both days. The tournament will be flighted after the first round, and cash prizes are determined by the number of entries.

KITE FESTIVAL
ELGIN — Elgin Methodist Church will host its Kite Festival Sunday, March 23, after an 11 a.m. worship service. Tie a dream or goal to a kite and watch as it takes flight. Food, crafts and contests will accompany the event.

JUNETEENTH ELECTION ELGIN — An election of officers for the Elgin Juneteenth Organization will take place Tuesday, March 25, at 7 p.m. at the Elgin Flemming Center, 802 N. Avenue C.
STITCHED EXHIBIT
BASTROP — A range of rare quilts from the 1850s to present day will remain on display at the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center, 904 Main St., through March 30. The exhibit celebrates the art of quilting, their stories and the developing community of Bastrop County, according to the museum’s collections manager.
