BOOK SWAP

BASTROP — Swap gardening and history-themed books with fellow readers at the Bastrop Museum & Visitor Center, 904 Main St., April 4 from 5 to 6 p.m. The event, held in partnership with the Friends of the Bastrop Library, encourages visitors to bring a book or two and enjoy a relaxed exchange before First Friday festivities. CEMETERY ASSOCIATION

ELGIN — The Elgin Cemetery Association will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at the First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 216 W. Third St. in Elgin. All are welcome to attend.

BASTROP — The Shamrock Smash Pickleball Tournament & Festival returns April 5 to Lost Pines Pickleball Club, 1099 Texas 71, with fast-paced team play and a 50+ senior event. SMITHVILLE — Make/ Do Festival is set to liven up Riverbend Park April 5 with a day of creativity, hands-on fun and community connection. From reuse projects and screen printing to music, poetry and picnic games, there’s something for everyone to explore. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 107 Texas 71, admission is free.
