A new play at Elgin High School is worthy of sonnets.
EHS Theatre will present "The Dark Lady of the Sonnets" Wednesday, March 1. Admission is free.
According to the Library Journal, "The Dark Lady of the Sonnets," a playlet by Bernard Shaw set in London around 1600, involves a palace guard, a quirky Shakespeare, and his lady of the title.
The play will be performed at the high school cafeteria, 14000 County Line Road in Elgin. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the play begins at 7 p.m.
