Share a meal and honor local heroes this Veterans Day at the sixth annual Elgin Empty Bowl event.
Enjoy samples of soup from local restaurants at the SPJST Lodge, No. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., 702 State Highway 95 S.
Attendees will be able to purchase tickets and one of the several handcrafted bowls made by local residents on behalf of a veteran, with proceeds going to help put food on the table for the burgeoning number of Elginites in crisis.
