How old are you and what do you do?
I am 52 years old. I work for Elgin Independent School District as the assistant superintendent of human capital.
What sets you apart from the other candidates?
I am a long time resident of Elgin, and together with my wife we have raised a family here, been school district employees and been involved in the community in many facets from little league to scouting to school district and city growth and development.
If elected, what will be your main priority?
If elected my main priority will be to continue to work as an ambassador for the citizens of Elgin as I work with the city to help plan for and manage the unprecedented growth we are facing.
What is the biggest issue facing Elgin/Elgin ISD at the moment?
The biggest issues facing Elgin and Elgin ISD are growth and economic development. We must work to develop our infrastructure while at the same time continue to develop a world class school district. We must have a community that grows positively and productively, but also proactively.
Why are you running?
Elgin is my home. My community. I want our city and school district to be an example of hope and collaboration that is second to none and a model for the state.
Why should people vote for you?
People should vote for me because of the perspective I bring, because I am a servant leader and because I will always work towards the best interests of Elgin’s citizens. I’m willing to have tough conversations and only desire to grow Elgin in ways that will positively impact our citizens, economy and youth.
Why should voters trust you?
The voters should trust me because I am one of them. I’m a parent, a father and a family man. I have given my time and energy to our community over the entirety of my adult life here in our city. I have seen the good and the bad, and I am willing to work through all the challenges we have ahead just as I have worked through all of our past challenges. Together we can make a difference and I ask for all to work with me.
