Tim and Lucy DeLap
Tim and Lucy DeLap, of East Dundee, formerly of Elgin, are astonished to announce the 50th anniversary of their union May 18. Lucy Alden, daughter of John and Connie Alden of Northbrook, and Timothy DeLap, son of Keith and Naomi DeLap of Broadview (later Lake in the Hills), met at the University of Illinois and were married May 18, 1974, at the Wesley Foundation in Dekalb. After careers in biomedical and information technologies and success in creative pursuits, retirement has allowed the couple to volunteer with East Dundee’s Motor Mondays, Dundee Township’s food pantry and Midwest Racing Preservation Association, on whose board Lucy sits. The couple celebrated their incredibly lucky fate by throwing the wedding party they never had 50 years ago, and are thrilled that many dear friends are traveled from afar to attend. Tim and Lucy can be found enjoying most village events, shopping at the Depot Market on seasonal Saturdays, taking walks on village streets or enjoying the natural area they have created in their backyard over their 35 years of residence. And they said it wouldn’t last.
