Elgin Independent School District introduced fresh leadership with the coming of the new year, preparing for the opening of its fifth elementary school and a growing student population.
The district has selected Paul Coronado to be principal of Neidig Elementary School.
Coronado, previously assistant principal at Elgin Intermediate School, succeeded Arthur Martinez, who has been named principal of Trinity Ranch Elementary, set to open in fall.
“We are excited that Mr. Coronado will be serving as the new principal at Neidig Elementary School,” Superintendent of Schools Jana Rueter said. “He will be a great asset to the campus as he works to continue the positive culture of student success that makes Neidig such a supportive environment for students, staff and parents.”
Corando joined the Elgin ISD team in August. His experience includes serving as principal at both the elementary and high school levels in Brownfield Independent School District, also having worked as an assistant principal, testing coordinator, attendance coordinator and Spanish teacher.
The new Neidig representative holds a master’s degree in education from Lubbock Christian University and a bachelor’s from Texas Tech University.
