The city is tuning up for its second annual Elgin Music Festival, promising a more expansive celebration of live performances, local art and area talent.

Scheduled for April 10–13, the four-day event will take place across multiple downtown venues and park stages.

Organized by the Elgin Arts Association, the festival is set to build on its successful 2024 debut, which featured more than 40 performances. This year, organizers say attendees can expect a broader mix of local, regional and headlining acts, plus food vendors, activities and an artisan market.

Attendees of last year’s event also noted a sense of reunion, as longtime Elgin performers and alumni all come back together to celebrate the people that keep the city moving.

“It was incredibly cool, I couldn’t believe some of the faces I got to see perform and hang out with again—just great,” said Charles Wilson.

Director of Operations Quinn Walton, a professional musician with 15 years of experience, said his team has worked to expand the lineup, creating an event that captures the city’s “artistic soul” and strengthens ties among its community members.

“Our first year brought out the best of Elgin’s creative community,” organizers said in a statement. “Now, we’re ready to take things to the next level. Whether you’re looking to dance, explore local talent or grab a bite to eat—from intimate acoustic sets to high-energy band performances— there’s something for everyone at the Elgin Music Festival.”

Beyond the music, proceeds from sponsors and donations will benefit the Elgin Arts Association, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit that offers scholarships to graduating seniors pursuing arts education.
