Wildcats football thrashes Cedar Creek

BASTROP – The Elgin High School varsity football team was coming off a disappointing 33-7 home loss the previous week to Bryan Rudder High School. The Wildcats put that defeat in the rearview mirror as Elgin dominated on Sept. 15 from start to finish in a 64-14 rout of host Cedar Creek High School.

Elgin High School held the Elgin Athletic Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony on Thursday, Aug. 31, and also recognized the inductees on Sept. 1 prior to the Wildcats’ home football game vs. Austin Akins High School.

Strong season continues for McDade volleyball

HEARNE – The Mc-Dade High School varsity volleyball team won its ninth consecutive match on Friday, Sept. 15 as the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Hearne High School and won in three straight sets: 25-12, 25-15 and 25-20 to seal the deal over the host Lady Eagles.
