Elgin High School varsity football senior standout quarterback Nathen Lewis announced his commitment Jan. 20 to continue his career as a student-athlete at Texas A&M-University Kingsville for the Javelinas football program.

GEORGETOWN – The Elgin High School girls varsity soccer team competed Jan. 18-20 at the Ladies Governor’s Cup tournament hosted by Georgetown High School and picked up a victory in the process.

SMITHVILLE – The Smithville High School girls varsity basketball team competed in 4A-District 22 play this past week as the Lady Tigers hosted Caldwell High School and rival La Grange High School.

BASTROP – The Bastrop High School girls varsity basketball team picked up its first 5A-District 23 victory of the season this past week as the Lady Bears hosted rival Cedar Creek High School and traveled to take on Georgetown High School.
