The Bastrop Opera House swept the 2023 Broadway World Austin Awards, competing against worldclass lineups across Central Texas.

The Bastrop County Commissioners’ Court voted unanimously to create a centralized public health department, inclusive of Elgin and all towns within the county, earlier this month.

The Elgin Economic Development Corporation proudly introduced its fresh website with the new year, a resource for businesses and entrepreneurs interested in the city’s economic landscape.

The Elgin Cares Organization will celebrate their communal contributions and achievements with a banquet and public auction, Jan. 27, where they will crown a Volunteer of the Year for the first time.

The new Morris Memorial Park playground is open for general use, with a celebration and dedication scheduled for Feb. 10.

State water scientist weighs in on city manager’s report
